Where the East, in a new form, meets the voice of the world.
In this special performance, Spirit of the East embarks on a different kind of journey, a journey through the colors of Eastern music and the grandeur of the operatic voice. The oud, tabla, and saxophone create an atmosphere that is both Eastern and contemporary, while the soprano voice carries this sonic world into a new and unexpected realm.
This time, the music moves beyond the boundaries of tradition and modernity, reaching beyond cultural and genre borders. Eastern melodies, improvisation, the colors of jazz, and the expressive, fusion driven voice of the soprano come together to create a new and distinctive musical language.
Featuring Maestro Hooman Shirali, oud player and composer; Maestro Sandu, master tabla player; Kadir, saxophonist; and Yana, soprano vocalist with a powerful classical voice, this performance is an exploration of contrast and harmony softness and strength, tradition and innovation, East and West.
Spirit of the East invites you not simply to listen to music, but to experience it as something alive, emotional, and without borders.
