Position: Theatre Art Director

Job Summary:

Join the very first and unique Theatre of Digital Art in the UAE with an exciting opportunity that requires a knowledgeable, talented, and highly motivated individual to help build the next great set of digital experiences for TODA. The Theatre Art Director position involves overseeing all aspects of the artistic production of the organization, such as assessing and selecting the performances that will be shown, recruiting actors and performers, setting production schedules as well managing budgets. He / She will lead our design efforts across all interactive experiences on new and emerging platforms. The Theatre Art Director will oversee the entire creative development process from ideation to finish, utilizing both internal and external resources and working closely with our Creative Marketing Team, Technology and Theatre Teams in this very dynamic and highly collaborative environment.


  • Programming and budgeting
  • you will be involved in the whole process, from the design and pre-production stages, right through to the final performance
  • communicating and liaising with all parties involved, including actors, the creative team, the production team, and producers
  • attending preview performances and preparing detailed notes for the cast and for the creative and production teams
  • helping to publicize the production by giving interviews and leading discussions
  • work closely with our Marketing Team to define a product overall experience, look, and feel, and quality benchmark on the target platform
  • problem-solve and identify new techniques and workflows to drive quality and improve development; continue to advance products forward despite the design, technical and production challenges.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proven working experience as Art Director
  • A minimum of 5 years experiences total, including 3 years managing teams.
  • Exceptional design skills and experience working with world-class brands.
  • Adapt at problem-solving (both alone and in groups) with the ability to foresee and highlight challenges and provide mitigation efforts.
  • Effectively function and thrive in a very dynamic environment that operates across a diverse set of platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide clear and concise direction and present ideas with clarity and conviction.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a clear understanding of the big picture, always focusing on quality, authenticity, and the intended audience.
  • Strong understanding of digital platforms including the technology advancements, trade-offs, and the challenges associated.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Fine Arts, Design, or related field is preferred.
